The Green Room

Today hubbie, Ethan & I set off on the long drive down to Essex. My Stepgran, who had been ill with cancer for several months, sadly died a few weeks ago, so we were travelling down for the funeral. Although we took Ethan down in June, it's the first time we've done the journey with him without an overnight stop and we weren't sure how he would cope. He was a wee star though and was so good in the car, even when he wasn't asleep. He also enjoyed sitting in the green soft play area at the services at Tebay, although he's still a bit young for most of the playthings there.

We're staying in accommodation at a pub in a village called Matching Tye which wasn't too far away from Roydon, where my grandparents had lived. As we've been visiting Roydon our whole lives, it's very sad to think that this could possibly be the last time we ever go there, as my Grandad died in 2008, so we no longer have any links with the village. It really is the end of an era.
