Berry Generous

The gingerbread that didn't get made yesterday, got made this morning before the young ones got out of their beds. It is a recipe that was handed down to me from an aunt, and I can remember helping my mother make it when food rationing was still in place and we had to use reconstituted egg instead of fresh eggs. Its a simple recipe but delicious.

Just as it was being deposited in the oven, the door bell announced the unexpected arrival of EcoDad and EcoMum with their hands full of gooseberries, jam and a banana loaf.
They are such a kind couple, and all their offerings will be welcomed by everyone in the castle.
Thank you both so much, and consider my empty jam jars yours!

I think gooseberry fool and gooseberry crumble sounds good, but meanwhile the berries serve as today's blip.

Once everyone was up, we got the keys of the Dower House to show Mr&Mrs David77 our soon-to-be new pad. I think they were quite impressed and had some suggestions of their own as to layout.

A coffee at Peter'sYard followed and then we went out separate ways.

I am watching the final day's riding in the Tour de France and blipping, but really must start organising my kit for France later.

His Lordship has said he is making supper. I like to think that EcoDad's domestic talents have hit the competitive spot at the castle.
