Iona an Island
Today's choice was Iona, a short ferry journey to Iona. The family headed to the abbey but Juno would not settle so I headed to Dun I, the highest point at 101 metres. I had the summit to myself and enjoyed the views to the other Islands and the sandy shores. On the way down the distinctive corncrake cry came from the long grass. In fact I think I heard 3 different calls from various locations.
Swapped the dog over and I had a wee walk round the Abbey. interesting carved stones and history. Not many people around so it was great.
Eco son and I had some Armenian soup from a wee tea room, delicious.
Back just as the showers started.
