Ulva Ola

Part of the deal of coming to Mull was the kids wanted to go back to the wee island of Ulva, so today was our Ulva adventure.

We set off on the single track around Loch na Keal, on the way another hen harrier flew along by the car.

Part of the reason for visiting Ulva was to see Sig the malamute as the kids had played with him 2 years ago as a puppy. Sadly Sig was not keeping that well and was lying in the back garden not really liking humans just now. To make up the owner brought out Ola her new puppy, the kids and Juno played with him.

The young girls that run the Boathouse are brilliant and if you are ever on Mull visit Ulva. A wee cup of tea and a cake before a walk round the east part of the island. Eco gran's first visit so the kids were leading the way. We stopped and watched a Golden Eagle hunting on a ridge, it came really close to us.

It was then back to the Boathouse for a late lunch and a chat with the girls, they won an award last year and it was well deserved.

As I was having a cup of tea a white tailed sea eagle soared into view just outside the Boathouse, massive bird being harassed by hoodie crows.

Back on the Mull, we headed upto a waterfall for a bit of a swim, I was the only one to venture in. The pool was just above the 100ft fall over the cliff(Eas Fors).

A great day and pleasant drive back to the cottage.

This is Ola the new puppy (4 months) on Ulva.

This is a backblip.
