Green Man

Green Man - A legendary pagan deity who roams the woodlands of the British Isles and Europe. He usually is depicted as a horned man peering out of a mask of foliage, usually the sacred oak.

Happy 4th! This really should be able America's Independence and a picnic, but that didn't happen today. As Matilda was still over, we decided a trip to Blists Hill would be nice.

The day was perfect and the new Maths Trail was a brilliant way to go around the museum. We went to the bank and exchanged the money to old money. I didn't understand any of it, but the girls seemed to catch up straight away.

On our way home, Michael took us to one of the oldest churches in Shropshire called St Leonards of Linley. The structure is gorgeous but unfortunately it's no longer in use. What fascinated me was this Green Man was is so unlike any I have ever seen before. I believe the building dates back to 1100s but I'm still researching that.

The day was long but a lot of fun.
