House martin

The lodge where we're staying has house martins' nests at almost every window; there are a few heaps of dried mud where early efforts seem to have collapsed. This martin's nest is actually on the window next to ours, but it visits our window ledge every so often and today I managed to snap it through the glass.

The rest of the time the little darlings are dashing about the place catching midges!
