The A's versus the A's
Today marked the first time that Loren was in the Tournament of Champions. It was a beautiful day and he was up against a team from another league by the same name. So I thought I'd capture a pic of this irony. Here they are with their hands over their hearts during the national anthem. Our team didn't win, but we had nothing to be ashamed of. The other team was an amazing team with awesome hitters and pitchers. The very short outfield make it rather easy for most balls to go over the fence and be considered a home run. The coach put him at third base again, where he has become accustomed to. We now go into the loser's bracket and will be playing another game tomorrow night. My family showed up to support Loren's team. My sister Wendy has had a hectic sports season as well, so it was nice to have her here today at Loren's game. She headed back home after the game...now that she has a teenage daughter to share a car with. I can't believe my niece is driving! Time sure flies!
We were invited after the game to a friend/teammates house for an afternoon/evening of swimming and dinner. We took them up on their offer, since we always enjoy spending time with them. They are a great family who have 3 generations of people living in harmony under ONE BIG ROOF! That, in itself, is a big feat! Thank you Leticia & Andrea! After a nice night, Loren was able to let go of not winning the game and was looking forward to (with a bit of anticipation), the game tomorrow night. Goodnight blipland!
