Gene Simmons Offspring?

This morning started out with an early day of the opening ceremonies for the Tournament of Champions. Loren's team, the As, made it to the tournament. We headed over to the hosting field. They had some beautiful, lush diamonds. I was quite impressed with their pretty fields. After they announced all of the teams who were in the tournament this year...Loren and I were able to scope out the team he will be playing against tomorrow. He will be playing another A's team from a different league! I'm convinced these kids were fed growth-hormone injected beef because they were HUGE. Our players are a bit nervous about tomorrow.

After opening day ceremonies, I took Loren to a graduation swim party at his friend, Tori's house. He had a blast with his classmates who will be going onto middle school with him. It was nice of Tori's dad to host a swim party to celebrate and Loren made it clear that he'd prefer if mom not stay. ha ha I knew this time would come when he wanted time with his friends sans mom!

While Loren was at his swim party, we headed over to get Gary from church. He and the youth group had returned home from their Mexico Mission Trip. They all came back happy and inspired from a wonderful week of building a house for a family in need. As usual, there were many great stories of the week and also many inside jokes. I look forward to seeing their video of the trip next Sunday (on Father's Day). The youth group will be hosting the church service and telling about their experiences. I think they were all looking forward to going home to their families and a nice bed, though!

Straight from the Mexico trip, we picked up Loren and we all headed to a birthday party. It was for my friend, Julie's daughter who was turning 4 years old. My boys enjoyed spending the day celebrating Danyele's birthday. THIS BLIP PHOTO IS OF DANYELE'S LITTLE SISTER, SIERRA! SHE WAS THOROUGHLY ENJOYING A LOLLIPOP, AND WHEN I ASKED HER TO LOOK AT ME FOR A PICTURE...SHE TURNED TO ME AND STUCK HER TONGUE OUT! IT'S SUCH A FUNNY PIC, BUT REALLY REMINDED ME OF GENE SIMMONS FROM KISS (OF COURSE ALOT CUTER, THOUGH!). Afterwards, we all came home and collapsed and were off to bed early!

Interesting kid moment of the day: Landon ended up in our bed tonight because he had a nightmare of bad men in Easter bunny costumes. He said we were all in the dream, but the bad easter bunnies took him away to a different place :(
