Lemonade for a Hot Day
Today was a bit rocky, thus the blip picture chosen from the end of my day. Younger two sons struggled to get along today and it felt a bit like a cage fighting day in my household. Ironically Nana offered to take us to see Karate Kid (ended up being a really good movie). So we quickly ran off to the grocery store to buy everyone the movie candy of their choice, considering buying anything at a movie theater could require you to put a second mortgage on your home. I'm a little concerned the boys learned some more moves to use on each other after watching the Karate Kid, though. Candy picks were as follows: Landon: sour gummy worms, Loren: Jolly Ranchers, Liam: Gigantic Hershey Bar, Billy: Gummy bears & Nerds, Tonya: Snickers Bar, Nana: Snickers Bar. I really need to go back to using a larger purse to sneak Capri Suns and candy into the theater, the grocery bag fell out of my purse on the way in! D'oh!
Then I dropped the boys off after baseball practice later in the evening at Nana & Papas so I could run home and get caught up and packed for tomorrow (as well as a couple hours of peace). Well, I get a call with a nice offer from Kristin to stop by for a drink before running home and doing work. I took her up on that offer. I'm thankful for good friends. This was the 'lemonade' I ended my day with. Nice flavor. Julie, Kristin and I bent each others ears for a couple of hours...and then home I went to a somewhat quieter household (my bro-in-law, niece and nephew still ended up being at home). I guess my cat, Luke, thought I needed more company throughout the whole night because he kept me up all night pawing me of meowing outside of my bedroom door. I felt like I had a newborn again...he literally kept me up the few hours I had at the opportunity of sleep. I'm booting him to the garage the next time this happens (no worries, I didn't boot my newborns to the garage).
