A light at midnight
You must have walked past the building hundreds of times. You've always assumed it was empty, but tonight ...
You're so used to seeing the place in complete darkness, that you can't quite believe there's bright light creeping out through the cracks, pouring out of the broken skylights.
Is that a sound you can hear coming from inside?
Voices, perhaps. Too low to really make the sound out. Perhaps it's the hum and murmur of machinery instead.
You don't even know what the building is. Looks like an old farm building - but those doors look heavy, industrial.
As you watch the building, wondering who could be in there this late at night, you feel you're being watched too.
Suddenly, you somehow know that the door is just about to open - and your feelings of curiosity are replaced by a single certainty; when the door opens, you don't want to be standing here.
