Garlic
It's the March equinox, so some people regard this as the first day of Spring in the northern hemisphere. It's a pleasant sunny day anyway, and the equinoctial gale that was roaring through Edinburgh yesterday has abated.
We raked, weeded and rootled about happily at the allotment for a couple of hours. The fox popped in to say hello but didn't stay. You can see one of his regular routes through the hedge in the background here.
I was very cheered to see how the garlic had come on. This year we're trying out a Canadian variety, in the hope that it might cope with the Scottish weather better than the more generally available French type.
