Eyes down (golden eyes, that is)

A busy day so only one photo, taken from the Shore when I got off the bus. The Water of Leith was flowing fast and looked really choppy so at first I couldn't see any wildlife at all. But then this solitary Goldeneye duck popped up from a dive. I tried several shots but this was the only one when I caught him above the water. Even here he's got his head down a split second before diving down again. There was almost no colour in the shot at all and I've cropped it heavily.

Now time to re-charge batteries - both the one belonging to the camera and, hopefully, my own!
