The yurt goes up.

Our daughter and partner had decided that,to get a cheap extra bedroom,they would erect a yurt on their property. Traditionally yurts are circular tents used by nomadic Mongolian farmers. For this one firstly a circular wooden floor of 7 metres diameter had been made. We then had to erect the yurt.The instructions said 3 people would be able to do it in 2 hours. They lied. First we assembled the frame as in the picture....not as easy as it looks getting the first roof struts in place.Getting the insulation and canvas around the walls was easy. Getting up the liner,the insulation and the canvas [each of which was one large piece] onto the roof was another matter. However,four hot and tiring hours later,we did it. Yay!
