We spent the day at Kawakawa where we went for a ride on the train, explored local glow worm limestone caves, and visited this arty exhibition in the village.

Kawakawa is famous for the Hundertwasse toilets, and the whole town is full of fascinating artistic creations.

We have now hunkered down for a rough night which is predicted as Cyclone Luci passes over. The wind is blustery now and the rain is steady, the boats have been taken away from the bay to safe havens, and all boat trips tomorrow have been cancelled .......... but so far it is ok. Hope the weather isn't as bad as predicted for all of NZ over the next few days.
