stormy seas

The sea today is quite a bit different from the view that greeted us when we awoke one week ago.

Cyclone Lusi hit last night and the strong winds made for a disturbed sleep. High tide was about 8 this morning and the sea was crashing across the road flooding one of the hotels and several cafes. On the beach in front of us there was a small boat which had broken its mooring during the night and is now a mangled mess on the rocks. Fortunately most vessels were moved to shelter yesterday afternoon and will stay there til the sea calms down.
