Mucky Pup

A nice near-tantrum-free day today! We walked over to playgroup, enjoyed our time there, then Ted had a sit-down-protest on the way home again... Not a tantrum, or even a bad mood, he just wanted to play in a patch of soil! I literally stood there for 15 minutes waiting for him (I was in no rush and didn't want to have to pick him up and drag him home) and only got him to move by suggesting that he could play with his toy diggers in the garden instead. This he did, spending the next 2.5 hours playing outside, refusing offers of lunch, and DVDs (it was cold, I was trying to entice him in!) and even having his nappy changed outside because he wouldn't come inside.

He. Was. FILTHY! I brought flannels down from the bathroom to clean his hands on the doorstep when he finally deigned to enter his home, and we had a loooong soak in the bath together this evening, with me even having to scrape the diet out from under his fingernails. I really don't mind, I love that he is so happy outside 'scooping' with his diggers and dump trucks - and he may even be adding to his collection come the 25th December! He crashed out in good time tonight, probably from all that fresh air.

Husband and I are now lying in bed feeling slightly ill after consuming sticky toffee pudding for supper (not just that I hasten to add, we had satay chicken first!). We really are out of the pudding-habit; probably a good thing for our waistlines really!
