No birds to be seen

I had decided to join a bird watching club today. It had taken a bit of organising as I usually work on a Thursday, so I had agreed to work on Fridays instead. I got prepared last night with binoculars, camera, warm clothing etc.
I woke up 10 minutes before the alarm went off (at 8.00) and decided to just lie there until it was time to get up. You've guessed it - the next thing I knew it was 11.00 !!!!!!!!! I don't know why I slept that long. I wasn't particularly tired. I never sleep that late.
So I missed the club. It's held monthly and next month it's Christmas so it will be the end of January before I get to go. I have been kicking myself all day!
