A positive day - it's the only way to sum up this friday. For Michael, it started with a good review of last night and lots of positive praise from 'upper upper' management. For me: It started with a job interview. One hat I've been wearing is that I've been helping at the college teaching teaching assistants and the head of school noticed my work and asked if I would be interested in hours. Then as we started talking more, and she found out my strong IT background, she offered me another position. The only issue is that it's Monday nights ... which is a night that is always a hectic night. So now I'll be teaching training in the morning, then Rainbows then back to teaching IT to Teaching Assistants. It'll work. It'll have to.
Meanwhile, during the interview, she found out some other things I've done and now it looks like more hours will be arranged for me to work starting this September using my IT/Teaching Assistant/SENco qualifications... at the same time as I start my teaching certification. It'll work. It'll have to. (But it was nice to know that I have hours guaranteed to me that I need to enroll on the Cert Ed coarse. One less thing to worry about).
Afterwards, I went shopping with a friend who strongly needed a coffee (well, probably something stronger, but it was only 11am!). We had a wonderful afternoon and I left her with a bit of a smile on her face before I headed home to finish up my A1 assessor portfolio which I'm hoping to hand in on Wednesday.
I managed to get all that done before picking Charlotte up from school, and have a look at her classroom (for Sports Relief day). I haven't been able to take her or pick her up from school much this week, so it felt good to be mom again - I missed that.
Tonight, Michael managed to get home early, Charlotte is already in her PJs and I'm ready to kick some Mario Butt. Bring. It. On.
