I smell burning

Could be because we are outside a Buddhist temple which has a restaurant attached. A vegetarian buffet. For meat eaters, this may not sound too wonderful but believe me it was rather special. Must have been at least 40 dishes on offer and everything I tried was very tasty. Oh, and it cost 3 pound a head and dinner later in the day was 21 pound for 5 people. My holiday money is lasting well.

Spent the evening preparing hong bau, little red envelopes with money in which will be given out during the wedding festivities.

Tomorrow, we are having lunch in the hotel where the wedding will take place before taking a bus to Yuangsho where we will stay until Wednesday which is when things start to get serious with dry runs for the wedding and each of us learning our parts which vary from giving out tea and soup, accepting hong bau, being served tea, lighting firecrackers etc.
