Birthday dessert Jester House, Tasman
My sister shouted us lunch for her birthday today. Before you say we got that back to front, DS had a voucher for a free lunch as long as she took some others with her and also because I am her support person at hospital tomorrow. The Jester House at Tasman won the NZ Cafe of the Year award for Service 2013 and this year is going for best food.We didn't choose the signature main dish they were serving but went for their signature dessert. Doris Plum with Orange Crumble served with cream or yoghurt. It was lovely and tart just how I like it.
The birthday girl got best wishes from all staff and the boss man himself as well as a card and orange candle. Not a bad way to start the week.
Jester House has lots of quirky sculptures, feeding of the eels, a giant boot for accomodation and delicious food set in a rural garden setting.
