Draecenia
In Nelson at Anzac Park I thought I would attend Remembrance Day commemorations but they hold them on the nearest Sunday now. The gardeners were renewing the flower beds and I had to ask one what this amazing flower was. The shrub has sharp flaxlike leaves, stands 6 metres tall, the flower stalks are 2metres long and droop down with these bright red flowers. Tuis, bees and flies were feeding on them. Googling draecenia there are many species but didn't spot this one, maybe you know it.
The red was very appropropiate for the day.
My sister had her day at hospital with a pleasing result from the tests she had. So all good.
