Ship Street

I had an earlier start to usual this morning because we had a meeting with Tom Jellis to discuss our fieldwork projects for the end of fifth week. Our group are heading to Cowley to have a look at 'spaces of/for consumption'. We had our first meeting as a group and discussed what we thought we could look into, coming up with perhaps using a Clone Town assessment and other things to compare Cowley shopping areas to other cities across the UK and see how it fits with the apparent decline of the high street. However we need to think a bit more about the collection of qualitative data rather than quantitative since it's a human geography fieldwork project. After the fieldwork (Thursday and Friday of 5th) we have to write a 2,000 word report which will be part of our assessed work in Prelims.

Ship Street is one of the streets that Jesus College is on and the Ship Street gate is closest to my room for leaving college in the day, especially as it's opposite a great coffee shop called Heroes. I grabbed a hot chocolate to take for the walk down to the department, perfect for such a chilly morning!

Also had a few lectures today and continued work for my essay, but have had difficulties getting into the 'rhythm' of working this week.
