We felt the need for a super leisurely day today. We steadily pottered first thing before we headed to the swimming pool. Her swimming was really excellent today. She's coming on. She did 20+ lengths as well as diving practice, jumping & playing and a whole lot of smiles.

We did a couple of jobs before heading home for scrambly eggs, at her request. We then strapped her up and headed off to try her new rollerskates. She held on to me about 10 minutes and then while I talked to a neighbour, she discovered she could do it on her own. And that was it. Off she went. I couldn't believe how quickly she picked it up. Her confidence waned a little after her first fall- but that served to make her realise the need for the wrist guards I had insisted she wear and that next time she would listen to mummy and wear the knee and elbow guards!

We made dumpling soup when we got in and are curled up to watch a film, perhaps with a wee bit of chocolate
