Birthday Party Boy!
07.30 this morning a little body 'nuggled into my bed and asked "How did my cake go? Did you sort the sandwiches?" "Morning Will, how are you?" We got up not long after so that the sandwiches could be sorted after assuring him that the cake was done.
We managed to get the cake tin back to the shop and have a go at marble run before we headed up to the party venue. Smartie Artie only arrive 15mins before the party should have started and I was starting to have palpitations about what I would do with 25 kids and no equipment. I should not have worried, He turned up and if the squeal volume was anything to go by he was worth every penny. A couple of children failed to show, but I don't think the birthday boy noticed. I chose this photo as it reflects this one.
Jim was shattered after the proceedings so getting the children out of the house was a priority. As Carys has read four library books since Monday, scooting there seemed like a good idea. Coffee stop after and a bump into NCT friends who live in Stotfold plus those that have since moved to Bristol was lovely if brief.
Home for tea and opening of a few presents. I am dreading the thank you letters!
Carys enjoyed the day at the same time as finding it quite hard. The blow was softened by me gifting her a pair of 'home' trainers. The same as her 'school' trainer, but pink and silver rather than blue and yellow. She was very, very happy.
Last day of the holidays tomorrow. Jim and I have decided that a day out would be good as we think he will be exhausted from today. London, watch out, here we come...
Best thing of the day was Will at bedtime " Thank you for my party Mummy, it was the best party I have had so far!"
