Autumn's finest day...

Out with a client today - I'd really thought that she was going to have a difficult day - its been awful in the Lakes for over a week. But every single forecast gave Wednesday as being great - and sure enough I awoke to a hard frost, no rain & wall to wall sunshine.
Arriving in Langdale it was obvious that all the half-termers had had the same idea - if the kids were to get any exercise it was obvious it would be today - but the benefit of hiring a guide is you can pretty quickly leave the paths & thus the crowds, behind.
For someone who'd only ever been to the Lakes 30 years ago as a child - to come and see our most picturesque valley - resplendent in its Autumn colours was a great experience - our progress was halted a fair few times for photo's, admiration and general "wow's" - sometimes (OK - pretty much all the time) my job is great.

We took our time up on the tops - it was close to zero degree's - but we'd got warm jackets, hats & gloves and it was nice to wend our own way across the rocks - when we reached Harrison Stickle the late afternoon light was fantastic - showing the climbing cliff's of Pavey Ark off to their true glory.
Down just ahead of the gloaming - all that was left to do was join the queues heading out of the valley, find a nice hostelry & have a pint.
