Home to the National Park :-)

A relatively stress free journey back, but an early start today saw us making our way back home just as the sun was starting to drop.

For many years we've said the Lake District as a descriptive for people who never have a clue where our village is - but now we've arrived home to the news we are officially in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. I'm pleased, its how I responded in the consultation, it fits geologically.

It does leave our village with a bit of an identity crisis though; we're Cumbrian but in the Yorkshire Dales, we have a Kendal phone code but have a Carlisle postcode. We do however remain the middle day of the Coast to Coast and I suspect we'll see a few more tourists now which is a good thing for the local economy.
