Happy Halloween....

Have been busy all day cooking and preparing things for our Halloween supper. Listening to the news at lunchtime, I heard that Halloween is now the third most celebrated event in the UK after Christmas and Easter. It's overtaken Bonfire Night and New Year's Eve. The big supermarkets are delighted with this as they have seen a 2000% increase in Halloween related business since 2000. It seems that we have all bought into those American suburban movies and TV programmes featuring cute kids trick or treating across manicured lawns surrounding well appointed houses. Commercial considerations aside, I like Halloween. Our wooden ducks enjoy it as well as they get to dress up....
