Save water share a bath!

These 2 Woodpigeons are regulars in the garden and very often use the birdbath at the same time. I took quite a few photos through the kitchen window.

It seemed as if one was standing over the other to make sure it washed in all the right places.

I never did top up the water in the birdbath as they general sit there so long soaking up the water its empty by the time they've finished.

I seem to remember seeing a David Attenborough programme many years ago about a bird, think it was Sand Grouse, that do that in the desert to take water to their young. Not sure why Woodpigeons sit so long, they look a bit gormless.
