Fixing the roof while the sun was shining

Today was a DIY day,

Feeding the birds this morning and notice the felt was off the shed roof on the side not visible from the house. Must have been the storm earlier in the week. Luckily we had some felt in the shed from the last time the wind ripped off the felt on the otherside of the roof.

With help from my brother we didn't take too long to fix it in place, only got wet once but it did mean very cold fingers. I've never been able to hold a nail with gloves on.

With the offcuts I made a new roof for the birdtable which has been rotting away most of the year, it should now last a while longer.

The birds were not happy about us working in the garden and the robin went on the feeder even with us close by. When we had finished didn't take long for the birds to go on the birdtable. Chaffinch first then the Nuthatch followed shortly by the Grey Squirrel!!

Other birding highlight was large flock 170+ Pink Footed Geese flying over eastward calling all the way. One of many flocks seen this week all heading over the Peak District in the same direction. I love Autumn.
