Fred & Andy

Note from the cleaners

Last time we stayed here the cleaners took a liking to the Gonks. So, after a very early start, doing some exercise at Hoan Kiem Lake, Andy left them a little note while we went for breakfast ... the pic and "Xin Chau" (hello) being from him. They left a rose and wrote the "Happy" and "Love you". Funny :-)

Spent the day in Hanoi getting bits and pieces that we can only get in the City and then back to the Indian Embassy. Got the info we needed. Should be able to apply though any embassy in SE Asia and get a 6 month visitor visa ... 153 USD though ... bit steep but apparently its what Indian nationals pay to enter the UK also. It'll take a minimum of four working days for issue so we'll need to leave a couple of weeks but at least we know it shouldn't be too difficult.

After saying we'd never do it again, have booked another night bus for tomorrow night to Dong Hoi. From there we plan to get a local bus to Son Trach which is just by the Phong Nah National Park where they have amazing caves. Looking forward to the Park but its going to be another pretty horrendous journey. Four times cheaper than the train and takes the same time so we're just going to have to grin and bear it. Off out for a curry tonight.
