Thoughts of a Mummy

Truffle Shuffle

Peach and I have been giggling at this photo tonight, suggesting that Aj looks like Chunk from Goonies!

This is actually Aj wearing Pop's Build-a-Bear glasses!! She'd been wearing them a while before I even noticed that she was wearing them!

We had a venture out to Sainsbury's today. With the girls having a couple of parties this weekend, we went present hunting and treated ourselves to lunch at the cafe too.

We bought the girls a small pumpkin each and picked a big pumpkin up for Daddy. Whilst choosing the pumpkins we saw one of DM's teachers. They were very polite to us and made passing conversation but threw me off guard slightly when saying "be careful of the evil". Pardon?!? I have my young daughters here and Halloween to us is about dressing up, spending time with family and friends, making crafts and playing games; Evil?!? Really??? You teach my daughter, you know she is 7, do I want her head filled with evil? No I do not! Let's talk about the light-hearted Halloween please.

Whilst at Sainsbury's I had the usual gormless stares at my mini harem of girls, who I'd like to point out were mainly well behaved! During the whole two hours we were there, there were only 2 meltdowns. One from Aj because she was sitting next to Pops in the trolley and hitting her, so I lifted her out and asked her to walk. And the other from Rubels because she was sitting next to DM at the lunch table and was kicking her with her foot, so I asked her to move her foot, to which she replied with a simple but aggressive "No", so I swiftly took her lunch from her and asked her to leave our table. I actually had a lovely compliment from one couple who watched the girls play I-Spy together while I bought the lunch. They said that the girls were "a credit to me". It's lovely to hear compliments from strangers; it gives you that boost that as a parent, you must be doing something right ;)

The girls had an afternoon of drawing and colouring, Aj even drew pictures of the family faces and very good it was too!

We had Auntie CarCar round for dinner tonight as she had other plans last night (how dare she have a life!) ;)

I made an online purchase today, one that I'm sure the girls will love and will mean we have a visitor for the month of December - eeeek I'm so excited :)
