Hooray for Hotpoint

The dishwasher repair man came today...hooray!!

He looked a bit confused when I confessed it was actually working at the moment; but I explained what had happened last week, and the last time when I had to book a repair, so he knew it wasn't quite right.

Sure enough, when he dismantled it, there was a loose wire so he was able to fix it in no time at all.

However.....when he came to run the test cycle, it didn't work, so he had to dismantle it all again and investigate it further. He ran another test cycle and this time success......until he opened the door and the machine kept running!

For some reason, the door lock had tripped and wasn't shutting the machine off when the door opened. So it was dismantled again so he could replace the door lock switch.

This was only replaced about 3 weeks ago (by the same guy) due to a manufacturers safety recall, so he wasn't happy it had failed so quickly.

Luckily, the third attempt was successful and we had a cup of tea to celebrate. He complained none of the other visits he'd done before me had offered him a brew! Rotten sods :-(

He was a nice chap, and intrigued by my frog; he asked lots of questions about her and told me that he has discus fish. He asked about Mr A too as the last time he came to replace to door lock, it was Mr A that was home & not me.

Once he finished his tea, he put his cup in the dishwasher (well trained!) and off he went to the next job.
