Our guide, Tom, had to take a trip out into the countryside to book our elephants for the trek in the next few days and said that seen as he was going near there anyway, he would take us to this secluded waterfall. It was amazing and we had it all to ourselves! The water was freezing so it took a few tentative steps before we jumped in from the side but in the end it was a refreshing swim. We did manage to get just below the waterfall and George even clambered behind (I just couldn't go, with wearing contact lenses and all, too dangerous...ahem ;-) )

After our splash about, Tom fed us some delicious thai curry which he'd bought at the market earlier that morning...which we tried to order again (speaking thai) later in the trip but instead were given 2 dishes of steamed rice and a plate of cucumber and tomato! hey ho...
