Umphang trek - day 1

Our first day of trekking with the French Earls of Surl began surly-less enough with a rafting trip down a fairly calm river - our white water rafting trip reached a massive class 1 rapids, we were lucky to come out the other side as the water crashed onto our boat, sending us flying one direction to the next, phew!

We also took a dip in a hot natural spring, which looked like a mud bath but was great to relax our not so tired muscles (yet!) in.

We stopped for lunch and admired the cliffs and rainbows along the way. In the afternoon we had a strenuous trek up and over a mountain to the campsite where we took a dip in the water, and the Frenchies began their 3-day argument... bon voyage!
