A Little Help Here, Please!
The Paul R Tregurtha is the longest steamship on the Great Lakes. Today she caused a bit of excitement in the Duluth Harbor as she got off course and caught up very close to shore on her way out, fully loaded. Here you can see the front of the ship and the crowd gathered to watch the excitement. These two tugboats came over and I was amazed at the power they must have to be able to push this large ship off of whatever she was hung up on. If you look at it large you can see some of the crew standing, looking over the railing at the tug boat. We didn't stay around to watch, but heard that the ship was loose and out of the harbor a short time later.
Tonight we are in Grand Marais, MN at the Solbaken Resort. Our room is close to the water with a wonderful view of Lake Superior. Met friends Ken and Rita at the Cascade Lodge for happy hour.
