Racing northward across the big country!

I've been working away a few days and didn't even have time to look at my photos, much less choose and then blip them, so this is the first of five images that will be shortly arriving!

I'm taking the train from home to Umeå for four days of meetings and a conference at the university. Umeå is 300 km north so autumn will be even more under way and the nights will be starting slightly earlier than at home.
The autumn colours are showing the forest in its most colourful mode.
(Though I didn’t know it this was the last time I saw the sun for the next five days!)
