Marjorie's ramblings

The last and the only one

In Sunderland, where I was born and bred, every garden seemed to have a hydrangea in it. They bloomed profusely and happily. Mum would love to have the same in our garden in Humshaugh, but, like most people in the village, we have not had any success.

Two bushes were removed from their bed after trying to coax them to glory for a few years. Dick planted this one in another border and this year it has produced one flower. We are enjoying it!

Big committee meeting this morning, the last before the festival starts on Saturday. There are a few jobs still to be done. We will all feel much better when it starts.
