Spelling Lessons
That is the question. This little passage of play this evening amused me greatly. I was round the in laws, working - such is my life nowadays - as the wee 6yr old nephew saddled up to me. He was worryingly very interested (and complimentary I must add) in me belting out email after email. As a result he put down his rubbish computer game - something about mines - and found their huge laptop. He opened it, filled in the password successfully and opened Microsoft word just like that. He then proceeded to slowly spell out sentences about how good Chelsea were. Though the subject matter was questionable I was impressed he wanted to learn from his uncle and try out his spelling at compiling sentences. He was doing rather well by mocking that team in 'red' from South London until he started making spelling mistakes. A lot of the words, understandably, had the red squiggly lines underneath them....cue my amusement. Despite his Dad's protestations in 4 minutes I taught the young lad how to use spell check... "Don't worry about learning how to spell words fella" I advised. "Just type really really quickly and press this button here and it corrects it all" . Simples. I've now been thrown out and I've been asked to think carefully about my actions in future.
