Autumn Macro
I spent most of the day in the garden tidying and trimming before autumn really sets in. Pulled up the bean and the courgette plants then dug loads of homemade compost into the plots. I was going to cut back the raspberry canes - but managed to picked about 250g of fruit - and saw that there was still loads of fruit to come - so they have a stay of execution.
Trimmed the hedges this afternoon.
Photo today is of a beech nut - picked up in the woods a couple of days ago before the squirrels could remove the kernels. However in the warmth the shell has opened and the nuts fallen out. I managed to get two to stay in the shell briefly.
Shot is taken on a piece of smoked glass laid on top of a black velvet fabric. Dust was a nightmare - thank goodness for Photoshop healing brush. The lower part of the frame appears to be noisy - but this is the fabric pile showing through the glass! Light was provided by two 'daylight' desk lamps at the sides
