Shadow Play

We spent the morning babysitting our granddaughter in Doncaster - we left early (8 a.m.) as it was quite foggy and the A1 has been a bit unpredictable recently.

We had a good run almost to Doncaster but then the traffic ground to a halt so we nipped off on a side road and took some of the back roads to our destination.

It was very warm in the afternoon when we got home - so I left the dog walk until a bit later as Finlay finds it hard going hopping along in the heat!

In the woods the sunlight was playing on this rotting root of a fallen tree - to put it in context the tree has fallen over to the left leaving the root pointing up at 45 degrees. I liked the way the light picked out the detail on the root and how it was isolated from the darker background
