Oops! I've fallen a bit behind in my postings.

This Gila woodpecker is usually squawking and hanging off the hummingbird feeder. He doesn't just drink the nectar. He perches on the feeder for extended periods keeping the intended guests from getting at the sweet juice.

But today he wanted plain filtered water. None of the sweet stuff. It wasn't as if there was none available. Maybe he wanted bigger gulps than the tiny holes provide.
