Thoughts of a Mummy

By Jaxndm

It's Friday tomorrow...

That's what a neighbour said to me today....

Yay, it's Friday tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure that their perception of Friday, is far different than mine.

Friday to me is a morning at Mumstop with Aj and our friends, an afternoon of just the two of us and then a movie night with three of my little ladies while Daddy and DM go Rollerskating.

Unless of course my neighbour was referring to the day being the last "working" day of the week for them......

I'm a full time Mummy; my "job" is 7 days a week, 14 hours a day (on some days it can be 24hours a day). The nearest thing I get to a "day off" is Wednesday's when they are all at school/Playschool - even then though I still have chores and paperwork to do.

I love my "job" - my bosses can be quite demanding, very impatient, argumentative and ignorant however, when was the last time your boss asked you to stop work so that they could have a hug from you? When was the last time that your boss suggested a play in the park instead of your everyday responsibilities? And when was the last time your boss told you you're the best?

My current role has taught me so much more about myself and others than any other position I have worked in. And yes, it's voluntary, there is no financial reward, but one thing is for sure... I wouldn't have it any other way!!

Aj and I have had a full on day together. We had Totstime this morning and then an afternoon of baking. We made Lemon Drizzle cake together and then when the older three got home from school they all decorated biscuits together.

Thursday is our "hump" day and true to form the girls were grumpy and particularly menacing during dinner time and bedtime. However, come 7.10pm, they were all tucked up in bed and fast asleep. :)
