Duck!

We live a few miles North of the Tebay gorges - a favourite with the RAF for training runs - its pretty common for us to see fighter & Hercules on their wingtips turning over our village & heading back to bases in North Wales & North Yorks - I'm fairly certain the church's white tower is a common sighting point for them. Often they're close to the deck - they most definitely like to cut it close to the reported 250ft ceiling.

Less common are the helicopters - but we do get the odd one throwing squaddies out so they can do manoeuvres back to Warton Base - however yesterday, working in the man cave there was a sudden tumultuous, slightly reminiscent of many a war movie, thrumming of rotors and this chap flew over - then closely followed by another.
& yes - he was as low as this looks.
