yes ~ maybe ~ no

After last nights ascent of Scafell Pike under a brilliant sky I'd planned to get a few hours sleep in the van & maybe head out somewhere for me on the Sunday.
This plan was somewhat spoilt by the larger lady (not from my group) who slipped off the path & knocked me flying into the ghyll - not the usual mountain hazard.
I awoke this morning feeling a little sore & sorry for myself - and thought maybe a wild swim in Wastwater would go some way to help. Unfortunately the day wasn't as nice as I'd hoped, and to be honest even by the time I'd roused myself, made a coffee and ventured out of the van my enthusiasm for the idea had started to wane.

I'm not the keenest swimmer - I mean I can swim (like here - though my feet are actually on the bottom) - but it probably (definitely) doesn't make my top ten list of fun things to do.

Hobbling down to the Lake the water looked dark & ominous & cake & coffee (regular readers will know this is my default 'go to' option) were starting to look better & better. Stood on the shore I didn't even need to dip a toe to know we'd arrived at "No".
