Tourist shot
Another relatively early leave - having paid I hasten to add - and we headed over the bridge to La Rochelle. Coffee and a croissant on the harbour edge of this spectacular harbour is not a bad way to spend a morning in early September. Beats inducting new 13 year olds into a school for sure. The fish market was worth it on its own with a colourful spread of fishes known and unknown. What is a maigre?!
Back across country via a couple of dolmens and churches to find Tricia's cousin who lives near Aubterre. The house was safely found and a very civilized pintade barbecue at the pool edge made for an enjoyable end to the day.
