The day before...

I woke earlyish and prepped the veggies for dinner this evening. I had breakfast with C. It was great to have him stay with me for one of his 8 nights here. Then we sorted out some more photos of B and the family over the ages onto the memory stick to show on a screen during the wake tomorrow.

Then I picked up a prescription and made an appointment to see the GP next week to discuss my blood test results. Something is 'borderline' according to the receptionist but I'm not sure what.... Not sure if I should be worried either but suspect not so I won't.

I then had my filthy car washed and the washers remarked on how long it had been since they'd seen me last!

C and I had a soup and sandwich lunch together then he did some more work while I changed the spare bed (second time in two days) and did some ironing, including my dress for the funeral tomorrow, while watching yesterday's Bake Off. I ordered a pretty black crochet short sleeve cardigan. It arrived today and I'm pleased with it.

I cooked a roast pork dinner and enjoyed it with L and C who has arrived from Kent in advance of the funeral. We had a lovely meal and toasted B. L kindly offered to clear up the kitchen, while I shared some of my thoughts about B with C to help her with the service. She's known B on and off for 26 years so didn't need much information but I hoped it helped her.

I'm feeling ok emotionally (still rather numb and thus in some kind of denial stage I reckon) but extremely nervous about the funeral tomorrow, both about my 'bit' and how I'm going to cope with my emotions too. Eek! I even had a dream last night that no-one except the family turned up and I was so upset. I'll be pleased once it's all over I must say.
