An Evening's Walk
This morning I drove into town and handed The Mother's bungalow keys back to the housing association. I can now feel free from the responsibility of doing any more cleaning to get this property ready.
This is the start of a new way of life. I made the day different by suggesting to The Man that we go out for a walk to find a blip. It is many, many years since either of us had walked up the footpath to The Beacon.
It wasn't a long walk, just a steep pull uphill for two people who don't go walking very much. We found that the view from the top wasn't great. Years ago The Lions Club had funded a brass plaque to name the circular panorama features but now shrubs have blotted out all but a small view of the lake, provided you stand on the bench.
We really enjoyed the walk up through the forest and the walk down was so easy!
