Taken for a Ride

So much for the dire predictions of a cold snap.
The weather is glorious this morning with sunshine and warmth- just the kind of weather that I would have wished for my eldest granddaughter, arriving in Edinburgh from her home in Muscat, Oman.
She is staying with her grandfather until she starts as a student at Stirling University in a fortnight.

I have been charged by her mother to see that she gets kitted out with the correct clothing and shoes for a Scottish winter, although having had a gap year in Melbourne, she is hopefully acquainted with colder climes.

Other students have been arriving back in Edinburgh while the remains of the Fringe installations in the George Square gardens are removed to restore the little tranquil green oasis in the middle of their campus.
