The Forest For The Trees NW 2014

Last year FFTTNW began a non-profit mural painting event, a week of public art, which I blipped last year. I am glad to report that there are some female muralists taking part this year and that there are a good number of Portland muralists, too.

I didn't get my act together last year to go and see any of the pieces while being painted, only after they were completed; so, as tomorrow is the last day of painting I knew I had to go today or I'd miss it again. So instead of doing some boring projects I hopped on the Number 8 and bopped up to NE Alberta St. where two of the murals are being painted. The map that FFTTNW has on its site unfortunately doesn't tell you which artist is painting where so I can't provide the name (yet) on this one. The painter was very friendly and when I was closer we shouted "hi" to each other when he noticed me photographing. He was too far away for a conversation so I will update this when a signature appears or I find out who painted where. More pictures of the two murals in process here.
