Frome Triathlon

A long day, after months of organising!

So last year was the first Frome Sprint Triathlon (400meters pool swim, 23km bike, 5km run) which was a sell out and success. So this year we upped our game had a max of 250 competitors including relay teams.

I was up at 4.30am and marking out the run route by 5.00am then to help back in transition. Brief the swim lane counters at 7.30am and start of the first wave of swimmers at 8.00am. Managed to keep things sort of on time over 11 waves we were only running about 8mins behind schedule.

Once it was all done in the pool it was off to the finish line to cheer people across the line and give them their medal and goodie bag.

There were beginners like E who before signing up to the tri couldn't really swim and in training has lost 3 stone, she did so well and was beaming from ear to ear with her achievement.

On the other end of the scale the overall male and female winners were using it as training as they have qualified for the World Champs in Canada in two weeks time!

In all another great success and so much positive feedback makes all the effort worth it!
